PE Stamped Engineer

The PE Engineer is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the CAD department. The duties include hiring, training, and supervising of the CAD detailer(s) and CAD drafter(s). The PE Engineer will design, review, and approve as needed newly fabricated pallet storage rack, cantilever rack, mezzanine, and other related systems. The PE Engineer will provide as needed the seismic calculations and support documentation required for project permitting and will stamp and seal the drawings and calculations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, and manage a CAD team of 3-5.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Research and comprehend current R.M.I. (Rack Manufacturers Institute) and S.M.A. (Storage Manufacturers Association) industry standards
- Assist with the selection of components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and review of customer data
- Conduct and produce load capacity calculations and analysis
- Review and stamp structural calculations for racking and mezzanine systems to ensure they are code compliant
- Work with the AutoCAD and fabrication departments to produce structural detail documents
- Develop and implement processes
- Provide engineering support to design team and customers
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Proficient with AutoCAD and Advance Steel
- Strong working knowledge and application of steel structures
- Ability to develop and review design drawings, specifications, and calculations
- Work within a team-oriented environment to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of five (5) years experience of facility layout and design experience with racking and or mezzanines
- Accustomed to working with New Pallet Racking, High Density Racking and Mezzanine Work Platforms
- Strong permitting experience
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of plant open-air warehouse
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
